About Us

A family-owned and operated business for three generations, Aligned Wealth Advisors believes in strategy, trust, and putting others first.

This approach has been the secret to our success.

First, while many financial service companies focus on either investment OR tax planning, we think that’s incomplete. It’s the relationship between the two that maximizes profits. It does no good to earn high interest on investments if you have to turn around and pay large chunks to the IRS. So we use our tax planning expertise to both maximize profits, and minimize expenditures.

Second, it’s important for you to know that we make decisions based on your best interest, not ours. Since we don’t work on commission, you can be sure that when we recommend specific funds, it’s not because we make a percentage on the sale (whether the funds make money or not) but because we believe it’s the right fit for YOU!

Third, we don’t have multiple branches and hundreds of employees because we believe that wealth management is a highly personalized venture. And that personalized attention is the key to guiding you to your goals. Asking the right questions and listening provides us with insights that larger firms whisking customers through would probably miss. (And, truth be told, we’ve often had insights that even clients themselves didn’t realize!)

Andrea Ward

Introducing…

Andrea Ward CPA

Andrea had no hope of escaping a CPA career.

Even as a kid she took her allowance money, figured out what she wanted to buy, then budgeted around those goals.

And nothing has changed. Except she now helps other people with money management!

Andrea began her career with KPMG International but opted to leave in 1990 to work for a smaller, family-owned business.

Having been in public accounting since 1987, Andrea has been licensed as a CPA in Texas since 1989. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting, with equivalent minors in Finance and Economics from Texas A&M University.    (One afternoon she considered retirement for 17 seconds, but she enjoys working too much.)

In addition to being a CPA, Andrea is also a Registered Investment Advisor Representative and offers investment advisory services.

Andrea “cleanses her accounting palette” by enjoying home decorating and travel…even though she claims not to be very good at home decorating. However, she loves learning about different cultures in her travels to Greece, Europe, and even Orange County.  (Ask her about the private concert with Aerosmith!)

Matt Ward CFP®, CRPC®

If Andrea had no chance of escaping a career in finance, well, neither did Matt.

A third-generation finance professional, Matt grew up listening to finance theory at the dinner table, over Thanksgiving pie, and while working at the office through high school.

After briefly considering a career as a jazz drummer, (and after rejecting an even briefer consideration of the NBA) Matt attempted to carve out a career selling insurance. But he quickly grew to resent the “sell, sell, sell” mentality where he never got the chance to know his clients.

Matt shared his frustration with his grandfather who suggested that he add an investment component to the family business. It was a win-win. The family business could expand its services to clients and Matt had the opportunity to develop long-lasting relationships and actually HELP people.

Matt went on to earn his CFP and CRPC certifications and still talks shop over pie. (His favorite is apple!)
